Amaretto Tiramisu
Ingredients
6 eggs
1 cup sugar
300g mascarpone cheese
300ml whipped cream
3 packages of ladyfingers
1 cup strong coffee
Chopped dark chocolate
Amaretto liqueur to taste
Instructions
Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add half a cup of sugar while beating.
Beat the egg yolks with the remaining half cup of sugar until pale and doubled in volume.
Fold the mascarpone cheese and whipped cream into the egg yolk mixture until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the beaten egg whites.
Briefly dip the ladyfingers in the coffee mixed with amaretto.
In a serving dish, layer the ladyfingers, cream, more ladyfingers, and more cream. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
Before serving, dust with cocoa powder or chocolate shavings... or both!
