Gas prices in the state are up 16 cents from a week ago and drivers

The new price is 6 cents more than this time last month and 11 cents above a year ago and a 15 gallon fillup costs $55 on average in the state. The most expensive gas is in Jackson at $3.75, while Marquette has the most affordable gas at $3.53. AAA is expecting a record number of Michiganders to hit the road this week. The group said drivers will be paying more for gasoline than they did last July 4, when the state average was 15 cents lower.
