This week, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett took to social media to implore Israelis not to leave Israel.

In a post on X, Bennett wrote: “We are in the most difficult period since the War of Independence: Change in the war, international boycotts, damage to deterrence, 120 Israelis in captivity, thousands of bereaved families, a deserted Galilee, thousands of evacuees, ministers who only care about themselves, loss of control over the economy and the deficit... Talks about leaving the country. This must not happen. We need all the talent and dedication of the people of Israel just to get out of the pit and relaunch Israel.”

While Bennett begged his compatriots not to abandon "the pit", Joe Biden and Donald Trump held their first Presidential debate for the 2024 U.S. election. Biden performed so poorly that, immediately following the debate, major liberal media organizations, including the New York Times, proclaimed that it was time for Biden to step aside and allow another Democrat to run for the Presidency.

On June 30, 2024, Dimitri Lascaris and Beirut-based geopolitical analyst Laith Marouf discussed these developments. They also examined the current state of the battlefield in occupied Palestine.
