Hofmeyr – A Pretty Town close to the Bamboes Mountains! S1 – Ep 185
Hofmeyr is yet another pretty Eastern Cape Karoo town which we enjoyed visiting. This town is very close to the Bamboes Mountain Range and its original name was Maraisburg and later renamed after Jan Hofmeyr. While driving around we found the Anglo Boer War Memorial in the park as well as the Great Trek centenary celebratory pyramid which was in the same park in the centre of town. Then it was time for us to leave this beautiful town and find our accommodation at Waterlea-on-River Tented Cabins about 35km from Hofmeyr. What an amazing stay we had, on the river in a fancy tent!
