Cabaret (1972)

Not only a musical masterpiece, a film that explores and shows the seedy and dark side of Berlin and the Nazis rise to power.
It was a play based on a novel by Christopher Isherwood who'd lived in Berlin at that time but what Fosse and the cast did with the film was AMAZING.
The performance is a masterpiece of Bob Fosse's camerawork and editing.
At the time of Cabaret, big musicals were going out of fashion with studios so it was almost a novelty that it did so well.
The background dancers clearly spent a lot of time on their craft, synchronization, and strength.
The original London production of Cabaret, which kicked off on Feb. 28, 1968 ran for 336 performances.
A performance on par with Gene Kelly and an umbrella.
Today, we don't see such things.
