Elizabeth Pol has spent more than 20 years as a cop in one of the toughest cities in America. Watching the toll that it had taken on many of her comrades and friends, including suicide, has led her on a journey of delving into the answers of why policing takes many of those who serve to the darkest places. This led her to become a psychologist with a specialty in the "forensic, psychological autopsies of police suicide."

She has also created an organization called Resilient Heroes that helps officers from across the nation cope with trauma. In this fascinating interview with show host Randy Sutton, she reveals the results of her years of searching for answers.

Lt. Randy Sutton can be heard every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm ET on The Wounded Blue Hour on iHeart Radio on the America Out Loud Talk Radio Network.
