A preview of an upcoming project on Virginia and the American Revolution. Starting with the Battle of Great Bridge, December 9 1775. Virginia's first Battle in the war. Including at look the life of William "Billy" Flora. A free black man born here in Portsmouth and was one of the first local volunteers to enlist in the Great Bridge colonial militia and would stand beside General George Washington as Lord Cornwallis surrendered the British Army at the Battle of Yorktown.
