The first LoH deserves a spot beside genre-defining classics like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Phantasy Star.

Developed and published by Nihon Falcom, Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes, the sixth entry in the Dragon Slayer franchise, was first released in 1989 for the PC-8801 and saw numerous re-releases over the years. For this retrospective I played the TurboGrafx-CD (PC-Engine CD) remake, the only version released in the West.
