The spirit overwhelms me
Music fills my breath
As calypso beat bouncing, resonates
With poetry in my head

The girls sing like angels
At the gates of mind's heavens
The demons cast out tonight
As music rises and the spirit redeems

And opens the eyes of a dreamer
In a sleepless, waking dream
And shatters the lies that blinded him for so long
That he could not see

The blank page, a blessing
A gift of possibility
The muse slowly undressing
Still keeps a little mystery
