Dr. Maurer is an award-winning broadcast journalist with more than 35 years of experience. He's a retired Air Force Master Sergeant who deployed to Iraq during the Global War on Terrorism. He also served overseas in Japan, Korea, the Portuguese Azores, and Alaska. For his final assignment, he served in the Pentagon Press Briefing Room alongside all major news organizations. He's interviewed top defense officials such as Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen as well as rock stars like Sammy Hagar and Pat Benatar.
