KENYANS DEMAND ICC RE-OPEN RUTO CASE

In this recent video, Kenyans in the Netherlands rally at the Hague, demanding the International Criminal Court (ICC) re-open President William Ruto’s case.

The court charged him with crimes against humanity following the 2007 elections, when violence k*lled more than 1,000 people and displaced about 600,000 Kenyans. In 2016, ICC judges threw out Ruto’s case in a split ruling, citing a lack of evidence, with the prosecutor alleging ‘widespread witness-tampering.’

Perhaps if the ICC case had led to a conviction, Ruto would not have had a chance to become president and allow government forces to attack and k*ll Kenyans protesting against his unpopular IMF-backed tax hikes.
