The film tells the story of a cavalry officer, Parrish, who tries to befriend Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse, the leaders of the Sioux tribe. Parrish knows the US Army’s plan of attack and leads the Sioux to safety in the North. However, he is court-martialed and sentenced to death by firing squad for treason. Sam, a woman who is sympathetic to the Native Americans, convinces Sitting Bull to speak with President Grant to plead for Parrish’s life.
