When The Elephant In The Room Steals The Show For Herself

This interesting parade through a European city is full of a mixture of animals. We see white horses, small brown Shetland ponies, camels, and elephants. There are two elephants that we see one is a large male and the other is a smaller female. As they pass, the female elephant pauses and snags a bunch of flowers from a planter on the street and brings the bunch with her. We think this parade is promoting the local zoo and encouraging people to check out the various animal they have on display there. But that is, admittedly, just conjecture based on the truck behind the elephants.

Regardless how unusual this sight must have been, we are glad to inform you that many cities around the world hold such animal parades, either as a promotion of the local zoo, or raising awareness for certain environmental issue. For example, London this year was occupied by the “elephant invasion” which was soon followed by other British organizing animal parades.

Residents of Bath, one of the most beautiful cities in the UK, decided that they should have a parade of lions. Why lions? Here everything is simple: these animals have been symbols of royal England for nine centuries, and in Bath itself there are at least five hundred images of lions.

The next English city was caught by a "rhinomania". According to the organizers of the parade, rhinoceroses are one of those animals that are currently in special danger. The management of the Chester Zoo, where there are nine black rhinoceroses, decided to organize a fund-raising to support these animals in Kenya and Tanzania, so the "rhino parade" was held to draw attention to this project.

Kingston-upon-Hull focused on some strange toads and huge amphibians in honor of the 25th anniversary of the death of Philip Larkin, one of the most famous poets of Great Britain of the 20th century.
