Juan A. Fernandez-Barquin was appointed by Gov DeSantis as Clerk of the Court and Controller. Now a qualified candidate for the position in early June 2024, Fernandez-Barquin is getting paid mid six-figures to run against long-time native Rubin Young. There is a law on the books saying appointed individuals must take a leave of absence when running for the same position.
