On Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 03:26 a.m., Fort Worth Police officers responded to a hit-and-run vehicle collision near the 1000 block of Foch St. The incident involved a suspected intoxicated driver who crashed into another vehicle and a structure before fleeing the scene on foot. While officers were conducting their investigation, Carolyn Rodriguez, a resident uninvolved with the accident and broadcasting live on her social media page, approached police officers. An officer advised Rodriguez multiple times to move across the street. When she failed to comply, she was placed under arrest. During the arrest, an officer used force to take Rodriguez into custody. She sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. Rodriguez was later released from the hospital and booked into jail.
