Man Who Drove Tesla Off Cliff With His Family Inside Won't Face Charges Due To Mental Health Issues
Posted • June 27, 2024: The man who intentionally launched his Tesla off a 330-foot cliff with his family inside, will not face trial after he was granted a mental health diversion. Dharmesh Patel, his wife, and two kids survived after he drove off the side of the Pacific Coast Highway. Patel was granted a mental health diversion thanks to evidence that he had a major depressive disorder. Patel, a California radiologist, will remain in jail for a few more weeks before he is released to his parent's house. The father allegedly drove off the cliff because he thought his kids would be s** trafficked. He also claims he heard footsteps following him. His wife previously argued for his release. "We need him in our lives and it has been over a year and a half since my children or I have seen or spoken to Dharmesh."
