Won't darken the doors of a church? What about attending Bible study at a bar?

People visit bars for multiple reasons. Bars are places to meet friends or relax with colleagues after work. They’re places where one can relax and get away from the cares of the world. Some go for the music, others go to find a date, and still others go to hear the Word of God.

At least that’s what happens in Southwest Idaho, where I’ve been teaching a Bible study in a saloon each Sunday morning since February.

When people hear I teach a Bible study in a saloon, most think it’s pretty cool. Others raise their eyebrows – “You teach the Bible in a bar????”
