Django Reinhardt was a Belgian-born Romani-French jazz guitarist and composer who is considered to be one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He was born in 1910 and began playing guitar as a young boy. Despite suffering from severe burns on his left hand in a fire, which left him with limited use of two fingers, he went on to become one of the most influential jazz musicians of the 20th century.

In the 1930s, Reinhardt formed the Quintet of the Hot Club of France with fellow guitarist Stephane Grappelli. They combined Reinhardt's unique guitar style with Grappelli's virtuoso violin playing to create a sound that became synonymous with the swinging jazz of the era. Reinhardt's use of syncopated rhythms and melodic improvisation, along with his lightning-fast playing, set him apart from other guitarists of his time.
