On November 24, 2009, John Edward Jones was trapped upside down when he went head-first inside the Birth Canal in the Nutty Putty Cave. Unable to move, his abdominal organs and diaphragm pressed down on his lungs and heart, forcing them into overdrive. His brain also started feeling up with so much blood, hallucinations set in.
John spent about 27 hours stuck upside-down and it became the most tragic incident in Caving history.
