This particular cut is of a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO that has been documented from several different sources (there are only 39 in the world, after all). Technical illustrator David Kimble describes in his book David Kimble's Cutaways: The Techniques and the Stories Behind the Art his struggle to bring the project together and, despite the obstacles, the results are nothing short of spectacular.

The process began when Kimble had the (slightly crazy) idea of ​​merging two technical drawings of famous Ferrari homologation models. Kimble focused on the 250 GTO and its rarer (at the time) stablemate, the 288 GTO.
