Citizenship: The biblical Israel was a theocratic state, where citizenship was determined by birth or conversion to Judaism. The modern State of Israel grants citizenship based on a combination of factors, including Jewish ancestry, conversion, and residency.

Government: The biblical Israel was governed by a theocratic monarchy, while the modern State of Israel is governed by a democratic system.

Purpose: The biblical Israel was established to fulfill God’s promises to the patriarchs and to serve as a light to the nations. The modern State of Israel was established as a safe haven for Jewish people after the Holocaust and to provide a homeland for the Jewish people.
