A former official of one settler-colony has accused another settler-colony of being like the US white-supremacist group, the Ku Klux Klan.

That’s what retired US diplomat Chas W. Freeman, Jr., recently said as he denounced the United States for being willing to undermine the international justice system to shield Israel from being held accountable in ongoing cases for war crimes, crimes against humanity and gen*cide against Palestinians. He laid out his perspective on the Daniel Davis / Deep Dive podcast (@DanielLDavis1 on TW).

Since Israel’s founding in 1948, the settler-colonial state has received $310 billion in US economic and military aid. Additionally, since 2019, Washington has provided $3.8 billion annually in financial assistance, which will end in 2028. Since the 7 October escalation in the 76-year Israeli occupation of Palestine, the US has provided at least $26 billion in funding and made more than 100 weapons deliveries to Tel Aviv, of which only two had congressional approval.

Are former and current US officials trying to distance themselves from Israel after more than seven decades of support? Let us know in the comments.
