Closer To Nature - A Documentary About Violin Maker Dmitry Badiarov

NOTE from Dmitry Badiarov: Ever since the criminal invasion of Ukraine by Russia began, this beautiful ship and her anti-Putin, anti-corruption government captain—who has lived in exile since the ship was built—have been banned from participating in European tall ship festivals solely due to his place of birth. It's ironic to see how many seemingly intelligent Europeans lack independent thought and the humanity to avoid discriminating against those who share similar beliefs and cultural values. I pray for the war to end and for our fellow European citizens to retain their humanity. Perhaps they could take a cue from captains of monumental European ships like this one, protesting against the promotion of hatred: if the Shtandart is not allowed to participate, then we won't either. The ban was lifted. Humanity prevailed. If it can prevail at sea, it can prevail on land. Hopefully, this sentiment will resonate among "culture workers" as well.
