This family man had a dark secret lurking behind his suburban façade, Herb Baumeister. In the early 1990s, Baumeister lured young men to his home under the pretense of giving them a safe place to stay. He targeted men from gay bars in Indianapolis, inviting them to his estate, Fox Hollow Farm. Once there, Baumeister strangled his victims, often in the indoor pool, before disposing of their bodies on his property. June 1996 marked a turning point. He had been connected to disappearances in the area. A search of his yard discover skeletal remains in the family's backyard. The grisly find connected Baumeister to at least 11 homicides. Fearing arrest, he fled to Ontario, Canada. On July 3, 1996, Herb Baumeister took his own life, leaving behind a note but no confession. His death left many questions unanswered and families searching for closure.
