NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

I let Victoria make her own mistakes.

Along with radical honesty, it's my prime directive. A sacrosanct, self imposed rule governing this step-into-the-godparent-role (without any instructions or guidance whatsoever) crazy trip i've been on since her beautiful mother, Audrey, died in my arms from breast cancer on May 7, 2007.

I keep thinking back to the day Audrey introduced me to Victoria.

I USED to think Audrey lied to me because she was embarrassed. They sauntered into Denny's for mint-chip sundaes during my shift that afternoon pretending Victoria was Audrey’s 19-year-old SISTER. Over the years, i’ve always thought Audrey lied because she was ashamed to have a nearly teenage daughter despite only being 29 herself.

The more i think about it, the more i'm doubtful her motives were shame based. Now i believe Audrey deliberately brought the sophisticated, pseudo college student (who’d been using her mother's ID to successfully get into bars around Riverside) personality to meet me that day.
I think Audrey introduced me to her “sister who goes to RCC” because she WANTED me to fall in love with Victoria. Two days later, finding out i'd actually met Audrey’s 12-year-old daughter, i was shocked. And ashamed.

I've been Victoria's father ever since.

I successfully transmuted that initial love - so carefully curated by Audrey that fateful day in early 2003 - into being the parent Victoria so desperately needs.

But the decisions are always hers.

If she wanted to be with me romantically, that's where our relationship would have gone.

Nowhere in her life does she ever have choice - from the schools that couldn't deal with her, to the prison that poisoned her, to the men who control her - so choice is the gift i've given her.

My mistake was not confiscating her phone the moment i arrived in California, with $7,000 and a mission i should’ve realized would be thwarted by her hypnotist “friends”, determined to turn our lives into a tragedy.

It was after a phone call that she demanded i drive her all the way BACK to Lancaster when we first got to Arizona. Once she convinced me to give her one more chance, it was Hypnotist #6 – the infamous Julian – who controlled her mood and behavior the entire time.

Post-hypnotic instructions were simple: "Get as high as you can on the can, refuse to go to the bathroom… then, when you shit yourself it’s ALL SETH’S FAULT, because he killed your mother, and you hate him more than anything in the universe!"

That's exactly what happened.

At the end of this episode, Julian calls, switches her personality, and she tries to seduce me.

I turned her down.

If she ever decides she wants to be with me romantically, SHE is going to make that decision. Not whomever gives orders to her many hypnotists.

I've documented the existence of a group of men in Lancaster, California, who use drugs (specifically "dust off") and hypnosis to manipulate victims of multiple personality disorder (technically Disassociative Identity Disorder: DID) leading my goddaughter Victoria to literally do their bidding. Then she wakes up in a different personality with no memory of it…

THIS MUST BE INVESTIGATED!!!!!

This very plot line shows up in FBI "consulted" television shows, albeit with the bad guy wielding this horrible power over his victims. It was a major season-long story arc on Criminal Minds!

It's a real thing.

DID isn't a genetic disorder. It's a mental disorder which manifests in the human psyche, usually as a defense mechanism against sexual abuse...

I'm theorizing the FBI didn't "bungle" the case of the gymnastics doctor who molested HUNDREDS of his patients. I'm postulating this was DELIBERATELY allowed to happen, to funnel hundreds of the most physically fit women on earth into psychiatric care, with the specific trauma most easily manipulated into multiple personality disorder...

Of course it sounds crazy to suggest an operation of federal agents deliberately allowed hundreds of women to be molested by their doctor, intentionally, to create… Manchurian Gymnasts.

It may have very well happened.
