Ontario Science Centre closure: Toronto residents rally against Ford government

The controversy surrounding the closure of the Ontario Science Centre and its relocation to Ontario Place remained a hot topic over the weekend for residents all across the city. On Friday, the centre was permanently shut down without warning by the Ford government, stopping summer programs in their tracks.

On Sunday, a rally at Wells Hill Park had speakers from all political stripes taking part. The message to the Ford government rang loud and clear: the Ontario Science Centre won't be going down without a fight.

“The Science Centre did not need to be removed. Rather than investing a billion bucks in advancing beers and spirits, they could've invested in repairing the Science Centre,” said protester Jill Andrew.
