MDHHS and MSP Providing Free Gun Locks

State law requires that all firearms, loaded or unloaded, be locked away safely if a minor is (or is likely to be) on the premises. To make gun safety accessible, the state has purchased 75,000 gun locks to distribute to Michiganders, free of charge. To acquire one, you can visit your local MDHHS department or contact a local health or police department to see if they are gun lock providers.
