#USA 22 June 2024. Historic #flooding has hit parts of #Iowa.
According to National Weather Service meteorologist Roger #Wachalek, some areas received up to 15 inches of rain (381 mm of rainfall) in 2 days.

The Little Sioux River level broke the 1953 record, rising 2 feet higher. And the Des Moines River in Humboldt County exceeded the historic 1969 mark by a foot.
The Rock River broke a levee, flooding the city of Rock Valley. About 500 homes were flooded and 1,500 residents were displaced.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds called the flooding "catastrophic" and declared a state of disaster in 21 counties.
