Maghera cave

Maghera beach is famous for its beauty and caves. There are more than 20 caves, 8 arches, and 5 tunnels .  In the past these caves were used by the locals to ahelter from Vikings raiders. It is important to check when the tide is high as it is not safe to be in the area at that time . These caves are quite small and are at the foot of the hill. They were formed from mudstone and sandstone. It is quite dark inside the caves so it good to have a torch .
