Armies with the Most Female Soldiers

The United States Army, Russian Armed Forces, and Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) have the highest numbers of female soldiers. In the U.S. Army, women constitute about 15% of the active-duty force, serving in nearly all roles, including combat. The Russian Armed Forces have about 10% female personnel, with women serving in diverse roles despite some challenges. In the PLA, women make up around 5% of the force, actively participating in various capacities, reflecting China’s gender inclusion policies.
