The 26km long Maju Expressway (MEX), formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway (KLPE), begins from the Kampung Pandan interchange and terminates at the Putrajaya Link Interchange. It is an expressway that links Kuala Lumpur to three prominent locations of the country, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), opened its “doors” on schedule to road users on 13 December 2007, and provides the shortest direct access to the Federal Government Administrative Centre and becomes the backbone of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) area. The expansion of Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, and the KLIA together with this new major expressway will stimulate further commercial and residential developments in the southern corridor of the Klang Valley.

Benefits of MEX Highway:

1. Regional Connectivity

- It provides a link between Middle Ring Road 1 (MRR1) & Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), thus relieving traffic congestion along these routes

- It provides free flow connection with other highways such as Sungai Besi Expressway (BESRAYA), Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway, New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and Lebuhraya Shah Alam (KESAS).

2. Catalyst to Growth

- It stimulates further regional property development and accommodates ever-increasing economic activities.

- Enhances property value along its routes

3. Time Savings

- With the expressway, what used to take an hour or more to reach during peak periods from KL now only takes an estimated 20 minutes to the Federal

- Administrative Centre in Putrajaya and 30 minutes travelling time to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and KLIA2 at Sepang.
