Researchers have discovered a shipwreck near Konevets Island in Lake Ladoga, northwestern Russia, and believe it to be a Finnish pirate ship. Footage captured on Monday shows divers from the 1XPEDITION research center investigating the wreck, which is adorned with a carving of the mythological sea monster Leviathan. Various artifacts were sent up to the surface, including a rare brick produced in Sweden hundreds of years ago.

According to the researchers, the ship was likely sunk by an explosion, rather than from carrying a brick, and explorations will continue in an attempt to find out more about the pirates and their brick.
