US State Department calls Vietnam War ‘ancient history’

The US State Department spokesperson referred to the Vietnam War as 'ancient history.' Around 60,000 Americans died during that 'ancient history', which ended less than 50 years ago (so not that ‘ancient’ apparently). The death toll of Vietnamese people stands in the millions, and the exact number of war crimes committed by the US army is difficult to calculate.
