Tonight on Heliophobian, we will be discussing Herschel Guy Beahm IV, better known online as DrDisRespect, who is a 42-year-old American YouTube streamer and gamer, who has gained success for his appearance on live streams. He is a professional H1Z1 and PUBG player and has competed in tournaments against other players. Herschel still plays Blackout, Apex Legends, H1Z1, and Fortnite on YouTube Live alongside a variety of shooter games. Herschel was one of the most popular Twitch live streamers, with over 4 million followers on the gaming-affiliated video site, but was been permanently banned in June 2020 for reportedly "serious" but unknown violations of the Twitch terms of service, and made a switch to YouTube.

On June 22, 2024, approximately four years after the mysterious and controversial ban of Dr. Disrespect happened, ex-Twitch employee Cody Conners, who served as Account Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Amazon subsidiary, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share new allegations against him which would hypothetically explain Beahm's ban - namely inappropriate interactions with children via the Twitch Whispers app and at Twitchcon that year. The previous year, Beahm had also been banned - albeit temporarily - from Twitch for inappropriate behaviour at the conference as well.

Gaming journalist Jake Lucky was among the first to confirm who the allegations were regarding, whilst Rod Breslau - who covered the situation with 2020 with subtle hints to the alleged situation, said he "didn't lie." Former Washington Post journalist Nathan Grayson stated that “without revealing anything else in order to protect sources,” he had heard “basically this explanation” multiple times, and Former Partnerships Manager for Content Development and Acquisition at Twitch Zachary Diaz tweeted about the situation as well, revealing he was “so glad it’s finally out there.”

DrDisrespect, for his part, denied the claims being made, putting out a controversially worded statement claiming "no wrongdoing was acknowledged" before later stating he did "nothing" wrong or illegal, all claims had been "settled" and he had been paid what he was contractually owed. Rumours of non-disclosure agreements have been floating around in relation to the silence of many top figures, and online influencers, such as political commentator Destiny (Steven Kenneth Bonnell II) have began stating they have heard secondhand rumours for years. At the time of recording, no public evidence relating to the case has been released.
