Crystalis (GBC - 1990) playthrough, part 14/20 - Goa Fortress part 1

Still trying to figure out how to proceed, I discover a cave in the desert that I can't enter. Out of pure luck, I figure out how to get into Goa Fortress (go to about the 11:30 mark to skip me wandering around pretty aimlessly) -- if only I would have appraised the Ball of Thunder. I then spend over 15 minutes wandering around the fortress before stumbling on the path to a rematch with General Kelbesque (go to the 27:30 mark to skip most of my wandering), who I defeat on my first try. Defeating Kelbesque restores Zebu.

I've never played the NES version, so I can't compare the two. It's generally considered to be much better than this version.

I played this on a Retro Freak, which can play cartridges/cards from around a dozen systems. It has the option of installing the game to a MicroSD card. I played off the MicroSD card.
