Podcast interview with Mrs. Cathy Martinez, wife of LtCol Ruben Martinez. Amazing woman of God, professional teacher, and mother, talks honestly about her husbands first combat deployment in 2003 for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Granddaughter of a WWII Navy Veteran who understands Faith, Family, and Duty, Cathy wanted to become an educator, like many others in her family. While studying for a BA in curriculum & instruction and an MA in educational administration at Texas A&M University, she met and fell in love with her husband Ruben Martinez, while he was studying speech communications in business management.

While stationed in 29 Palms California, with 2 young boys, 6 and 8, Cathy had to prepare herself and her family for her husbands deployment into an unknown situation. How she prayed for him is a testament to her faith and strong reliance on God to protect her husband, his Marines, and strengthen her through this challenging time.

Interviewed by Mrs. Amy Fairburn, wife of CWO2 Sean Fairburn. Mother of 3 while pregnant with number 4, a lady who understands the same relationship with God and the challenges and difficulties of having her husband away on a battlefield.

Ruben and Cathy Martinez now work together in KISD (Katy Independent School District), with 3 amazing children (all Texas A&M Aggies), 2 of which are US Marine Officers, also married providing grandkids as an additional blessing.
