One of the things that people with depression are very, very, very, very good at is beating ourselves up for things that happened in the past. What's really important to recognize and can be really helpful to recognize is that you're not responsible for skills that you didn't have in the past if you didn't know they existed. 💙
So it's impossible to use a cognitive skill you've just learned retrospectively and go, well, I should have known that. Well, how could you have known that? And that allows you to take a big weight off of your shoulders, recognizing that. 💙
