North Korea Satellite Images Show Troops Building Border ‘Wall’

Satellite images have revealed that North Korea is constructing a wall along the border with South Korea in several stages.

The construction, visible at multiple points along the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), could violate the long-term truce established in 1953 between the two nations.

These images, captured by Planet Labs, show at least three sections of a barrier that were not present in November 2023, indicating recent activity.

South Korea’s leadership raised concerns on June 17, when the Joint Chiefs of Staff reported North Korea erecting anti-tank barriers and reinforcing tactical roads, laying mines, and clearing wasteland.

North Korean soldiers have also crossed into South Korean territory multiple times during this period, suggesting a military motive for the construction, Newsweek has reported.
