Peter M Lipman got called up to the Medical Corps, a place where he certainly did not wish to be and so he volunteered for 1 Parachute Battalion where he did his basics. During jump selection, he developed a hernia (he qualified for his wings in 1980) and was sent to Loathla Battle School from where he volunteered for 32 Battalion, then virtually unknown and very hush-hush. At 32 Battalion he joined the Recce Wing. Peter had many adventures including being at the Battle of Savate where the Battalion suffered its most losses ever in one engagement.
