Otis Death Trap Service Elevator @ Danbury Fair Mall - Danbury, Connecticut

Recorded on 6/19/24. Featuring William Scoufaras. This is easily the worst service elevator in the Mall. Normally we don't use the term "Death Trap" on elevators unless there are conditions that make the elevator unsafe. This elevator has a saftey issue on it. The metal plate is not in very good shape and there is no sub floor beneath the plate. Even though the plate is solid, imagine if it wasn't. Therefore, holes into the elevator shaft are present. If the metal plate continues to worsen, the holes could grow even bigger. Many holes were seen on this elevator which is not safe on this elevator. Therefore, "death trap" can be used here. This elevator is in horrible condition. Yes it is a service elevator. However, there are plenty of things this elevator needs to have fixed. Operational wise, it runs fine.
