Israeli Air Force Meteor F.8 / Strike Fighters 2

The Gloster Meteor was the first British made jet fighter produced during the Second World War. The Meteor's development was heavily reliant on its ground-breaking turbojet engines, pioneered by Frank Whittle and his company, Power Jets Ltd.

The Meteor was Israel's first Jet. The delivery of 11 F.8s started on on 21 August 1953 and was completed on 17 January 1954. They formed the nucleus of the 117th 'Hasilon Harishona' (First Jet) Squadron.
