Shuttered power plant turned to rubble near Detroit

Part of a coal-burning power plant, retired in 2022 after almost a century of generating electricity, was destroyed with use of explosives in Trenton, near Detroit. The building’s demolition is part of DTE Energy’s shift toward clean energy by constructing the region’s largest battery storage facility.
