Desert Sci-Fi (Original Score)

For this one, I wanted to integrate the typical "western" sound with the sci-fi dystopian world around it. I started with a classical guitar that was going to be the main theme surrounded by ethereal spacey reverbs, echoes, and atmospheric pad stuff. I layered in some electric guitar as well to really push the desert/western idea. However, the classical wasn't really working as I intended and so I ended up reversing the tracks and they became more atmospheric texture while also adding a seemingly Middle Eastern sound (which obviously fits the desert theme).

Often times when you're composing, the final product is not what you originally heard in your head. But usually the end result is also much better than what you were hearing.

Creatives, you need to be open to changing your ideas as inspired, directed, and led. Don't marry your original ideas because they usually aren't perfect and even if they are, you probably aren't skilled enough to actualize EXACTLY what you heard in your head.

Soli Deo gloria!
