Musical arragements owned by the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and Pipe Bands. The music featured are new derivate musical compositions of many well known tunes where permission was obtained to film and record the event by the Tattoo marketing team.

Performers featured below:

The 1st Royal Tank Regiment Pipes and Drums, 1st Battalion Scots Guards Pipes and Drums, The Royal Scots Borderers 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, The Royal Highland Fusiliers 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, The Black Watch 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland Pipes and Drums, 1st Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles, Scottish Universities Officers Training Corps Pipes and Drums, The Rats of Tobruk Memorial Pipes and Drums, Queen Victoria School Pipes and Drums, Singapore Police Gurkha Pipes and Drums.

Each Tattoo performance begis with a fanfare followed by The Massed Pipes ad Drums who perform, marching through the gatehouse of Edinburgh Castle and perform a traditional pipe bad set. The bands usually form a special formation marking each year's show and theme and usually the music featured includes a mix of different paced music. In recent years the Massed Highland Dancers have joined the Pipes and Drums performance and many of the bands provide musical support to individual acts particularly accompanying the Highland Dancers but also when appropriate for other acts. For example the Cape Town Highlanders performed alongside the South Africa Navy Band in 2004 and The Black Watch were given a special march on during the 2003 performance.

The Massed Pipes and Drums also feature heavily during the combined Massed Bands and Pipes finale with lone piper performing at the end of the show.

For a number of the years of the Tattoo many satellite events were organised to help promote the Tattoo and engage with the local community. In 2007 two free shows took place within Princes Street Gardens which had a massive turnaround, it was an amazing show to witness.

I was lucky to attend all of the shows within 2007, there was also a special performance by the Russian Moscow Military Conservatoire featuring many famous classical Russian music which was a special event indeed. In 2019 the Tattoo organised several events across Scotland in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling and Dundee.
