American Airlines has suspended several employees following an incident where eight Black passengers were removed from a flight due to a complaint about "offensive body odor." CEO Robert Isom expressed deep disappointment over the incident, stating that the employees involved had failed their customers. The passengers, who did not know each other and were seated separately, were removed from Flight 832 at Phoenix Airport, bound for New York JFK, after a white flight attendant made the complaint.

Three of the removed passengers, Alvin Jackson, Emmanuel Jean Joseph, and Xavier Veal, have filed a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination. They described the ordeal as traumatic and humiliating, highlighting that they were forced to re-board the plane and endure the stares of other passengers, further exacerbating their distress.

American Airlines has pledged to investigate the matter thoroughly, with CEO Isom emphasizing that such actions do not reflect the company's core values.
