Is America a democracy or a Republic?

History confirms it is “A republic if you can keep it.” Ben Franklin Sept 17, 1787 signing of the Constitution.

What is a Republic: a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch

A Republic form of government is the only form that protects our God given rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

What is a Democracy: democracy in which the power is exercised directly by the people rather than through representatives, i.e. the will of the majority rules regardless.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.”
