I just got back from a therapy session and something occurred to me. When we first start therapy, a therapist will reach out to us with compassion, understanding and kindness. And it occurred to me, why don't we do that with ourselves? 💙
In depression we are so hard on ourselves, such self-criticism, holding ourselves down, and it never occurs to us to reach out to ourselves with self-compassion, kindness and understanding. So it might be useful to start there in your journey of healing from depression. 💙
