BAIER: “Good evening, I’m Bret Baier. We are releasing new Fox polls right now about the presidential race. President Biden gets his best result this election cycle in the head-to-head against former President Donald Trump. He leads 50-48. That is within the margin of error. President Biden hasn’t been ahead of former President Trump in the polls since October of 2023. He trailed Trump by 1 point last month. Again, all within the margin of error, a very tight race. When listing extremely important issues to their vote, registered voters in this survey citing the future of democracy at 68%, the economy at 66, followed by stability and normalcy, then healthcare and immigration, abortion, and guns. This as President Biden is preparing to share a stage with the former president in just over a week, the first presidential debate which we will cover live right here on Fox News channel next Thursday night. Senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich starts us off tonight with a look at some of the other numbers inside our latest survey live from the North Lawn. Good evening, Jacqui.”
HEINRICH: “Good evening, Bret. We have already seen the last of President Biden for a while. He is at his Delaware Beach House until tomorrow, when he heads to Camp David to huddle with advisers for debate prep. The campaign says Biden will try to put Trump on his heels for his ‘attacks on democracy,’ but this new Fox poll shows Biden has some vulnerabilities of his own.”

HEINRICH (voice-over): “The president’s campaign is betting big concerns about the future of democracy will bring voters to the ballot box for Biden. But, according to a new Fox survey, he has a lot of work to do elsewhere. While Biden leads on the democracy issue by 6 points, Trump leads on immigration by 9. Republicans slamming yesterday’s executive order shielding half a million undocumented spouses from deportation as mass amnesty.”

ABBOTT: “More than half a million illegal immigrants are getting amnesty. The cartels will use that to gin up even more business, enticing more people coming across the border.”

HEINRICH (voice-over): “On the economy, Trump has a 5-point lead. A whopping 68% of registered voters feel its condition is only fair or poor. 41% report they are falling behind in their personal finances. And Biden’s approval rating is deep under water on the economy, inflation, immigration and the Israel-Hamas war. But don’t expect a change in strategy. According to a new report, even Biden’s closest longtime allies feel they can’t advocate for a course correction in private meetings or else risk being cast out. One source telling Axios, ‘Even for those close to the center, there is a hesitance to raise skepticism or doubt about current path for fear of being viewed as disloyal. There is not a discussion that a change of course is needed.’ Biden is taking the next week to prepare for his debate with former President Trump at the CNN presidential debate as one potential Republican VP short-lister reveals a possible counter-punch to Biden’s prepared lines on the future of democracy.”

BURGUM: “We’re actually living under a dictatorship today, where he is bypassing Congress on immigration policy, he’s bypassing Congress on protecting our border, he’s bypassing Congress on student loan forgiveness and he is defying the Supreme Court.”

HEINRICH: “While Biden edges out Trump in a head-to-head matchup for the first time since last August, his 2-point lead there shrinks to just one in a five-way race. You have Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Grabbing 10% support. That is shy of the 15% needed to qualify for the debate stage, making his participation next week pretty unlikely with that midnight deadline coming up, Bret.”
