Putin signs military pact with North Korea BBC News

Russia and North Korea have signed a deal to helpeach other in the event of aggression against either country.

The pact was announced as the Russian PresidentVladimir Putin visited North Korea. He received a redcarpet welcome, including roses, waving crowds and ceremonial gunfire.

The two countries reaffirmed their friendship andNorth Korea's leader Kim Jong Un said he fullysupported Russia's invasion of Ukraine

The US and South Korea accuse the North ofsupplying Russia with artillery ammunition for the warin Ukraine, in exchange for food and military aid.
