Rockies Announcers Melt Down After Blown Call Turns Into Disaster Against the Rival Dodgers

The Colorado Rockies broadcast booth lost it when a blown call on a checked swing immediately led to a go-ahead home run for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday.

Rockies pitcher Victor Vodnik had Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez in a 1-2 with two outs in the ninth inning. Vodnik was just one strike away from ending the game and giving his team a 9-8 win.

With the 1-2 pitch, Vodnik through a high fastball that was way above the zone. Still, Hernandez began to swing before trying to pull back and check his swing. The crowd at Coors Field immediately cheered as fans assumed Hernandez swung and the game was over. Instead, the home plate umpire appealed to the umpire at first base, who ruled it a checked swing. As a result, the pitch was a ball and the count became 2-2.
